Striker Kacper Przybylko has been on trial at League One side Sunderland as manager Jack Ross looks for a new centre-forward.
Despite signing Jerome Sinclair and Charlie Wyke over the summer, it is no secret that Jack Ross wants to bring one more striker to Sunderland.
And Polish forward Kacper Przybylko is certainly one name on the hit list. The Polish target man is a free agent after leaving German club Kaiserslautern and has been recently training with the Black Cats as Ross considers whether to bring him on board.
Przybylko wrote on his official Instagram last week that he would jump at the chance to put pen to paper with the Wearside giants, saying; ‘It would be my honour to play for such a fantastic and traditional club’.
And the 25-year-old, who played just 14 minutes of football for Kaiserslautern last season, has taken to the social media site again amid claims that he is also on trial with 2.Bundesliga team Erzgebirge Aue.
Przybylko has admitted that he has had contact with the club but it seems Sunderland are still in pole position.
“I had contact with Aue but did not have a trial there,” the player wrote.
He might not be the sort of signing that would get League One rivals quaking in their boots. But, considering the striker is available on a free, offering him a contract would be a low risk strategy with high rewards if he thrives in England.
