Everton held talks with Stoke City midifelder Badou Ndiaye while Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly made a £20m bid.
Badou Ndiaye will not be playing for either Wolverhampton Wanderers or Everton this season.
The Premier League duo were both linked with the Senegal international midfielder, who moved to Stoke City for £14 million in January but suffered relegation just four months later.
Fanatik claim that Wolves had made a bid of £22 million for Ndiaye, while the Mail reported that Everton had held talks over a potential move to Goodison Park.
But both were left disappointed. If that is the right word to use.
Galatasaray have confirmed on their official Twitter that Ndiaye has returned to the Turkish Super Lig champions, just half a year after they sold him to the Potters. And maybe Everton and Wolves both dodged a bullet.
Ndiaye was one of Stoke’s brightest performers in the second half of last season, scoring twice in 13 Premier League matches. But the former Osmanlispor man was criticised heavily for his performance in the Potters’ first Championship match of the season, the 3-1 battering at Leeds United.
Many supporters questioned his work rate and his attitude, and it is telling that Ndiaye did not feature in any of Stoke’s next four games.
Whether he was good enough for Premier League football is up for debate and, with a questionable attitude added to the mix, Everton and Wolves are better off without him.
