Tyler Roberts has scored three Championship goals for Leeds United this season and started Wales’ Nations League win against the Republic of Ireland too

The 2018/19 season is shaping up to be Tyler Roberts’ breakthrough campaign.
The 19-year-old centre-forward moved to Leeds United from West Brom in the January transfer window for a hefty £4 million fee but he was made to wait for his chance at Elland Road. But, after injuries left Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford on the sidelines, Roberts has seized his opportunity in style.
The teenager has scored three times in six league starts for Leeds, including a long-range winner away at Hull City recently.
Roberts has also earned plenty of praise for his performance in Wales’ 1-0 Nations League win against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday, with fans taking to Twitter to laud the forward’s speed and movement in attack.
And in Dean Saunders, who won 75 caps for his country between 1986 and 2001, Roberts has a keen admirer.

“It’s been a great week for Wales. We’ve got some good young players coming through,” the former Aston Villa and Liverpool striker told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (18 October, 6am).
“We’ve got Tyler Roberts at Leeds. He’s quick, sharp, played up there on his own and done really well.”
Roberts has not scored yet in three caps for Wales. But as long as he continues to impress for Marcelo Bielsa in the Championship, expect the Gloucester-born forward to keep getting opportunities under Ryan Giggs too.
