A number of Leeds and Wales fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Tyler Roberts' performance for Ryan Giggs' side in their Nations League win over the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday.

Roberts went into the contest with only a handful of caps under his belt but was handed the chance to lead the line for the Welsh as they looked to move to the top of their group in Dublin.

It was Harry Wilson's remarkable free-kick that settled the game for the visitors, but Roberts' performance also received a lot of praise on an extremely promising night for Giggs' men who were without Gareth Bale.

The Leeds star worked extremely hard throughout the night. As he has shown with Marcelo Bielsa's side this term, Roberts' movement made a real difference to the players working behind him as he created gaps and ran the channels brilliantly.

He was unable to open his account for the national team, and there was a bit of criticism for the former West Brom youngster's performance. But he is clearly one of the large number of players that Wales fans have high hopes for for the coming years.

And while it appeared to mostly be Wales fans praising the way that he stepped into Bale's shoes, his display also caught the attention of some of the Elland Road faithful, who were definitely impressed by the young forward ahead of the Whites' return to Championship action this weekend.
