Eldin Jakupovic has struggled at Premier League side Leicester City and Sunderland have been linked again.

With confusion reigning around the deal to take Andy Lonergan from Leeds United to Sunderland, it appears that the Black Cats have now turned their attention elsewhere on transfer deadline day.
HITC sources are telling us that Sunderland have made a bid to sign Eldin Jakupovic on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season. But can the Wearsiders now seal a deal that they should have got over the line way back in the summer?

Jakupovic had just one year remaining on his Hull contract so was available for a bargain fee, only for Leicester to swoop in and nab the experienced goalkeeper instead.
Although in hindsight, he might have thought twice about a move to the King Power Stadium. The 33-year-old has made just two appearances for Leicester, both coming against Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup third round, and has even fallen to third in the pecking order behind Ben Hamer.
In contrast, Jakupovic would surely be the undisputed number one at Sunderland, where Robbin Ruiter and Jason Steele have failed to impress.

Sunderland may be in real danger of relegation to League One but Jakupovic surely could not turn down first-team football in the Autumn of his career. This is a deal that would suit all parties.
But if only Sunderland had signed Jakupovic all those months ago.
