Sean Goss fell through the cracks at Premier League giants Manchester United but is proving his talents on loan at Rangers from QPR.

There was a time when Sean Goss was tipped to succeed Michael Carrick in Manchester United’s midfield.
The highly-rated midfielder was one of the most promising youngsters in United’s famed youth academy, and it seemed only a matter of time before a place in the first-team was his. He made his senior debut in the 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to PSG in 2015, coming off the bench to replace none other than Carrick.
“He has got a lot of talent, an abundance of talent, and a wand of a left foot,” United academy chief Nicky Butt said, in quotes reported by the Scottish Sun.

It is something of a surprise, then, to see Goss pulling the strings in central midfield for Rangers rather than Manchester United these days.
But while the 22-year-old might have lacked that je ne sais quoi to make that step up at Old Trafford, there is little doubt that he could become a first-team star at Ibrox, if he makes his loan move from QPR permanent, that is.
Goss was in magnificent form as Rangers smashed six past Ayr in the Scottish Cup at the weekend, dictating play from deep and producing a number of sublime passes. It is hard to believe this was only his eleventh senior appearance.
And it is fair to say he has already got the Rangers support on his side.

Fans might have been a little concerned when Goss arrived at Ibrox having failed to make the grade at QPR, let alone Manchester United.
But anyone who watched him stroll through Sunday’s cup clash will know exactly why he has been so frequently likened to United’s legendary number 16.
