Those looking for advice on the World Cup may be best not to look to music superstar DJ Khaled

Clearly, the beauty of tournaments like the World Cup is that it brings people together, even those who do not usually obsess about the sport on a day-to-day basis.

Can anyone stop France winning this World Cup? If so, who? 🤨

France made light work of a pretty toothless Morocco without really looking at their best…

It is a celebration, inviting diehard soccer fans and the more casual onlookers in equal measure.

All of that brings us to DJ Khaled.

DJ Khaled backs Morocco to win World Cup 2026 after elimination

The 50-year-old was asked by a supporter for his tip on who would win the World Cup.

Surprisingly, he went for North African giants Morocco, overlooking the fact that they had already been eliminated by France.

He said: “Morocco team look good.”

When it was put to him that Morocco were no longer in the competition, he said: “They’re out now?! Brazil out and Morocco out?”

Before asking the person holding the camera and recording him: “Who do you want to win?”

They say they want France to win, to which DJ Khaled says: “Ok, so France. Okay, you want France? That’s who you want to win? Then I’m hoping you win.”

France are certainly the World Cup favorites now, although current champions Argentina, European champions Spain and England all make compelling cases.

Didier Deschamps’ French team won the competition in 2018 in Russia before reaching the final at Qatar 2022 and losing to Argentina on penalties.

They eased to a 2-0 win over Morocco in the quarter-finals in Boston on Friday, with Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele scoring second half goals.

In truth, it was a disappointing performance from Morocco. They reached the semi-finals in 2022 and were considered by many as potential dark horses but they did not lay much of a glove on France before exiting the competition.

Morocco will be one of several co-hosts for the 2030 edition of the tournament. They will share duties with Spain and Portugal, while a select few games will be played in Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay to mark the 100th anniversary of the tournament.
