It feels like a lifetime ago when Alex Iwobi was one of Arsenal’s most intriguing prospects, yet the now-Everton star struggled big time this afternoon against West Ham.
The Nigerian winger started as the Toffees lost 1-0 as David Moyes returned to Goodison Park to haunt his former side. And for Iwobi, it was an Everton performance to forget against West Ham.
The attacker was hooked off in the second half. And whilst Iwobi is yet to really impress for the Merseyside club, this performance, in particular, will be one the attacker will be keen to forget.
As stats from WhoScored show, the forward failed to complete a single dribble and registered a lower pass accuracy than the likes of Demarai Gray, Seamus Coleman and Ben Godfrey.
Indeed, it feels crazy to think that Everton paid Arsenal £40m for Iwobi two years ago as reported by Goal. The winger, despite flashes of brilliance and potential for the Gunners, is yet to really improve at the Toffees.
With the winger being used more as a utility player, Iwobi is yet to nail down a permanent position in the Everton squad despite the reputation he arrived on Merseyside with.
