Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic is a wanted man, but Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will now have to watch his contract talks in Italy.

The Serbian hitman was outstanding last season, smashed 21 goals in 37 Serie A games for Fiorentina last season, earning huge praise along the way.

Ex-Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic compared Vlahovic to Erling Haaland, backing the Serbian to fight with Haaland for the tag of best striker in Europe for years to come.

Vlahovic also thinks pretty highly of himself, tabbing himself as the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic according to former Partizan Belgrade teammate Valeri Bojinov.

Vlahovic has unsurprisingly earned major interest as a result of his exploits in Florence.

Liverpool held ‘advanced talks’ for Vlahovic back in April, but that move doesn’t appear to have accelerated at all since then.

Tottenham Hotspur are also keen, with Tuttosport claiming that Fabio Paratici wants to use his connections back in Italy to bring Vlahovic over to North London.

Fiorentina director Joe Barone has now commented on the situation, stating that La Viola are ‘working constantly’ with the player’s agent to try and thrash out a new contract and fend off the Premier League interest.

“Vlahovic is a Fiorentina player, he has two years on his contract and we are working constantly with his agent over an extension,” said Barone, as quoted by Football Italia.
