Joe Rodon will seek a move away from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window after failing to regularly break into boss Antonio Conte’s side, according to football.london.
The Wales defender has so far only featured three times across all competitions since the Italian took over the helm. Conte has also only fielded Rodon twice in the FA Cup and once in the Europa Conference League, while starting once in both, for just 157 minutes in total.
Never has the centre-half so far appeared in the Premier League under Conte to date after a possible 19 games. Instead, Rodon has simply watched 17 from the bench, while left out of the matchday squad against Everton and Brentford during Conte’s first three in charge.
Chances to earn minutes in the FA Cup also proved a futile exercise for the 24-year-old this season. After starting Spurs’ third-round win over Morecambe, Conte axed Rodon for their fourth-round win over Brighton and the fifth-round loss at Middlesbrough after extra-time.
Now, Rodon is weighing up his future at Tottenham and will look for regular minutes in the summer transfer window. He is yet to decide on requesting a permanent exit, or to pursue a loan ahead of the World Cup. The Welsh ace is under contract for another three seasons.

Rodon penned a five year, £24k-a-week contract at Tottenham after joining from Swansea under Jose Mourinho for £11m in 2020. Yet almost two seasons on, the 24-cap talent has only featured 22 times in all competitions – 12 of which came in the top-flight last season.
Now, Rodon is set to hand Conte an issue in the summer by asking Tottenham to sanction a transfer away. His exit would deprive the Italian of depth – however infrequently he has featured – particularly at left centre-back. So, Conte may have to replace Rodon, as well.
The Swansea-born ace should not struggle to attract interest, at least from Championship clubs. Whilst he has struggled in north London, Rodon has remained in the Wales squad and impressed Jermaine Jenas with a ‘different class’ display against Austria last week.
Rodon managed Austria’s aerial threat well and produced a vital stoppage-time block as Wales clinched a 2-1 win. The result saw Robert Page’s side secure a place in the UEFA Path A play-off final against Scotland or Ukraine for a spot at the World Cup in Qatar.
