Torino chief Davide Vagnati has offered Newcastle United fresh hope of a potential transfer of reported January target Gleison Bremer after questioning the defender joining Juventus.
The Bianconeri are among the clubs most actively tracking Bremer’s performances in view of a summer swoop. Calciomercato report the Serie A side believe he can be a pillar of their defence for years to come. However, interest from rivals Inter Milan worries the Old Lady.
Inter Milan have advanced their contacts with Bremer’s agent in recent weeks, despite the 24-year-old signing a new contract. Torino locked the centre-half down to 2024 earlier this month, having rebuffed interest from clubs like Newcastle in the January transfer market.

Eddie Howe turned to Torino with a bid for Bremer’s transfer as he sought to improve the Newcastle backline last month. Corriere Granata reported the Toon offered €30m (£25m) for the Brazilian. But Toro president Urbano Cairo immediately rejected the Magpies’ bid.
Cairo’s objective was to keep Bremer during the January sales and to agree a new contract. Yet the Olympic Grande Torino Stadium chief will listen to offers once more this summer.
Vagnati questions Newcastle target Bremer leaving Torino for Juventus
Bremer showed why Newcastle targeted the Torino enforcer’s transfer in January with an inspired performance against Juventus on Friday to outclass €70m (£58m) Dusan Vlahovic.
The Brazilian cancelled out the Bianconeri’s winter signing as the clubs played a 1-1 draw. Vlahovic has now only scored once in four appearances for the Old Lady since joining from Fiorentina. He remains second in the Serie A golden boot race with 18 goals this season.

Speaking with DAZN before Torino’s draw with Juventus, via quotes by TuttoMercatoWEB, Vagnati also poured cold on Newcastle’s transfer target Bremer joining their local rivals. He said: “A player who wore the Grenade shirt like Bremer I think he makes different choices.”
Bremer has made 23 Serie A appearances so far this season and captained Torino in eight fixtures. He is also proving to be one of the league’s best centre-halves with robust displays to silence stars like Vlahovic, who he also shut out to help Toro beat Fiorentina last month.
