Tim Sherwood raved about reported Leeds United target and Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore on Sky Sports News (12:15pm, January 16, 2021).

Sherwood worked with Traore when he was the manager of Aston Villa, and the Englishman has spoken highly of the 24-year-old winger.

Leeds have been linked with a move for the Spain international winger in the January transfer window.

EuroSport reported earlier this month that Leeds Director of Football Victor Orta wants to take the 24-year-old to Elland Road.

Orta knows the former Barcelona and Villa winger from their time at Middlesbrough, according to the report.

Sherwood said about Traore on Sky Sports News (12:15pm, January 16, 2021): “When he gets the ball, he is so dynamic. In training, he is the worst five-a-side player I have ever seen.

“Play him on a big pitch, give him the open grass in behind, one-v-one he destroys anyone. No one wants to play against him, no one wants to play with him on occasions also.”

Unlikely Leeds United transfer in January?

Wolves are not having the best of times, and manager Nuno is unlikely to sell any of his important players in the middle of the season.

True, Traore is not guaranteed a place in the Wanderers’ starting lineup, but he can be very threatening for the opposition as a substitute.

According to WhoScored, the Spaniard has made 11 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves so far this season.

Leeds may have to wait until the summer of 2021 to sign Traore from Premier League rivals Wolves.
