Despite Moshiri claims about January, Everton must bid for Sebastien Haller

Everton won’t be spending big in January, according to Farhad Moshiri.

Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has already suggested that the club won’t be busy in the January transfer market, having been busy over the summer bolstering Marco Silva’s squad.

The Toffees spent on Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne and Richarlison as well as bringing in Kurt Zouma and Andre Gomes on loan, adding real quality to the side at Goodison Park.

There may not be many areas for Everton to strengthen right now, but with Cenk Tosun struggling this term and Oumar Niasse potentially on his way out, a physical centre forward would be ideal.

One player who should be on the Everton radar is Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, who is in red-hot form this season with 10 goals and seven assists in 17 games this season.

The Frenchman, 24, has great power and finishing ability, and would offer Everton a focal point in attack, much like Silva had at Sporting with Islam Slimani or Watford with Troy Deeney.

Intriguingly, former Everton boss Ronald Koeman wanted to lure Haller to Goodison Park from FC Utrecht in 2016 having seen him dazzle in the Netherlands, with talks held about a move according to the Daily Mail.

Since then, Haller has proven that is not another Eredivisie star who struggles elsewhere, as he has taken the Bundesliga by storm, and may just be the goalscoring centre forward that Everton are lacking right now.

Richarlison has fared well up top, but splashing out on Haller could give Everton a new dimension, and Moshiri should consider the burly striker in January if he does intend to spend on one key addition.
