Tottenham made it two wins from two in the Premier League as Nuno Espirito Santo bested his former side Wolves.
A Dele Alli penalty was all it took for Spurs to claim the three points against a Molineux side who dominated the majority of the match. Yet Tottenham managed to hold on to claim a 1-0 win over Wolves.
The result puts Spurs below Liverpool in the table on goal difference. The clean sheet against Wolves also means Tottenham remain one of the five Premier League sides who haven’t conceded a goal in the opening two games.
It was also a day to remember for Hugo Lloris. The Tottenham captain surpassed Darren Anderton’s 17-year record as the club’s record appearance holder in the Premier League.
The France international joined Spurs nine years ago from Olympique Lyonnais, and since then Lloris has remained the club’s first-choice between the sticks.
The 34-year-old keeper has been a major part of Tottenham’s recent history. And on social media, fans were stunned that the Frenchman had broken Anderton’s record.

Here’s what some Tottenham fans had to say about Lloris breaking the appearance record against Wolves on Twitter…
