The Derby winger has been struggling at Pride Park, while Rams youngster Jayden Mitchell-Lawson impressed against Southampton’s U23s on Monday night.

A number of Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jayden Mitchell-Lawson’s performance in the Rams Under-23s’ 1-0 win at Southampton U23s in Monday night’s Premier League 2 first division match.
The Rams went into the game at Staplewood Training Ground looking to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Pride Park last week and were successful as Morgan Whittaker provided the knock-down from a back-post cross and Mitchell-Lawson was on hand to net the winner in the second half.
The 19-year-old midfielder went on to produce a superb piece of skill as he nutmegged a Southampton defender on the 360 and made his way into the box, Derby’s academy account even sharing the moment on their feed:
Needless to say, quite a few Derby fans enjoyed Mitchell-Lawson’s efforts on the Staplewood pitch, both across the game and the standout moments, and some believed Phillip Cocu should draft him into the senior in place of the oft-criticised Florian Jozefzoon:
Jozefzoon, who joined Derby from Brentford last summer for a reported £2.8million fee (Transfermarkt), has flattered to deceive in the Rams’ opening games of the season and was widely panned following his display against Stoke at the weekend.
