Thierry Henry has claimed that Liverpool transfer target Antony ‘delivers every single time’ for Ajax, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (23/02/22 at 7:50 pm).

The legendary striker praised Ajax for finding and then securing Antony’s talents from the Brazilian side, Sao Paulo.

On Wednesday night, Antony started his side’s 2-2 draw against Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie.

An all-action winger, with tricks and flicks nurtured in the streets of Brazil, added with aggression and speed, Antony is one of Europe’s rising stars.

Therefore, it isn’t a surprise that Liverpool are looking at his talents, with the £13m player himself recently expressing a desire of wanting to play Premier League football.

Antony has certainly caught the eye of Henry, who shared what he likes about the player.

“I don’t know where they got him from,” said Henry. “Sao Paulo, I know, but how? Who?

“They manage to finds these players Ajax. The quality that he has in one-v-one in the box is second to none.

“When you have players that are willing to cross early, crossing with their right, crossing with their left and tricky in the box.

“The guy delivers every single time. The quality that he has is second to none.”

Liverpool are seriously bulking up in the final third, with Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz now fighting for a place on the left flank and Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino competing for those forward roles.

Mo Salah is his own man out on that right and if the miraculous situation of him going out of form happens, then he would still keep his place.

But could Jurgen Klopp add further firepower to his already well-equipped and all-action attacking armoury in the summer?

Even if he doesn’t, someone of Antony’s ilk, who has two goals and four assists in the Champions League this season, will end up in the Premier League someday.
