Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has given his verdict on the performance of Jorginho against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Rice has shared what he thought about Jorginho before he moved to Arsenal from West Ham United in the summer of 2023.
So, what has Declan Rice said about Jorginho? Let’s take a look.
Declan Rice praises Jorginho display for Arsenal vs Liverpool
Well, Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Sunday.
Both Declan Rice and Jorginho started the match. The latter was brilliant, with Gary Neville saying that he was the best player on the pitch.
Rice has said that Jorginho was outstanding in the match. The England international midfielder has also noted what he thought about the £110,000-a-week (Spotrac) star before he made the move to the Gunners.
The 25-year-old joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer of 2023.

Rice told BBC Sport about Jorginho: “When you get that energy transmitted from the fans it gives you more energy.
“Before I came here I knew how good Jorginho was. He brings such a calm presence, keeps the ball. He knows what he’s good at. He was outstanding today.
“We were top at Christmas and then had a few sloppy results. We seem to have ourselves back on the right track.”
My View: Jorginho is an important player for Arsenal
In my opinion, Jorginho is a very important player for Arsenal. While manager Mikel Arteta does not always start the Italian star, when he does feature, he makes an impact, just as he did against Liverpool.
Jorginho slows down the tempo of matches and gives Arsenal more control in the middle of the park. He did the same against Liverpool.
I think that Jorginho has a big role to play for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months. The Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.
The 32-year-old former Chelsea midfielder has made five starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal this season. He has given one assist in those games.
Jorginho has also made three starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the Gunners this season, scoring one goal in the process.
