Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi will not join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Atalanta have made the decision to keep Malinovskyi at the club.
Romano has added that the 29-year-old Ukraine international midfielder will not make the move to Tottenham or Marseille.
Earlier this month, Tutto Atalanta reported that Tottenham wanted to sign Malinovskyi from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.
Then this week, French publication L’Equipe reported that Tottenham had backed away from a move for the 29-year-old, adding that Ligue 1 club Marseille were the favourites.
However, it seems that Malinovskyi will now stay at Atalanta.

Tottenham Hotspur target Ruslan Malinovskyi to stay at Atalanta
No big miss for Spurs
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur missing out on Ruslan Malinovskyi will not be a big deal for Antonio Conte’s side.
Spurs are well stocked in midfield, and while Malinovskyi is a very good player, the North London club would do well without him this season.
Malinovskyi has scored one goal and provided one assist in three Serie A matches for Atalanta so far this season.
