Dean Saunders has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min after watching him in action against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The former Liverpool striker was hugely impressed by the assist that Son provided for Brennan Johnson’s goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Well, Tottenham Hotspur beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Son Heung-min was involved in the second and winning goal for Spurs. The forward came on as a substitute and provided the assist for Brennan Johnson to score deep into injury time.

Former Liverpool striker and talkSPORT pundit Dean Saunders was impressed, and he thinks that Son is world class.

Saunders said on talkSPORT (6:45 pm, February 10, 2024): “Kessey, when you go home tonight, right, watch that goal again. And, world-class players like Son, the cross across the face of the goal, right, he just sort of knew what cross was required for Johnson to tap it in.”

My View: Son Heung-min return a huge boost for Tottenham Hotspur

While Tottenham Hotspur did well during the period when Son Heung-min was away on international duty at the Asian Cup, there is no doubt that the South Korea international forward makes Ange Postecoglou’s side better.

Son is one of the main goalscorers for Spurs. Yes, Richarlison is doing well and is banging in the goals for fun at the moment, but Son is more reliable.

The £22 million (The Guardian) forward has been scoring goals regularly for Spurs for years now. Son has scored 115 goals and given 58 assists in 289 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks that Spurs are in the race for the title.

Whatever Spurs’ main objective this season is, in my opinion, Son will have to be on top form in the coming weeks and months for Tottenham to be successful in their quest.
