West Ham United have taken their time to adapt to the surroundings of their new home.
When writing his regular column for the club’s official website, Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan shared his delight at finally seeing the London Stadium rocking yesterday, during the club’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
Slaven Bilic’s men put in a sensational display yesterday, and would have woken up this morning wondering how they did not win the game.

West Ham’s transition to their new stadium this season has far from been a smooth one, with tension amongst the fanbase a common theme.
Some awful home results have contributed towards the poor atmosphere at the Hammers’ new home, but yesterday’s wonderful performance gave the crowd reason to cheer.

And Sullivan drew attention to the fantastic atmosphere in the ground against the Baggies, when writing his column for WHUFC.com, highlighting how the new initiative to allow large flags into the stadium made a real difference:

“Despite the late sucker-punch today, I really felt the stadium was alive. The supporters were fantastic – it was great to see more flags decorating the stands following the recent new initiative, and we can look forward to the final third of the season with great hope as we aim to finish as high up the table as possible.”

It is now down to the players to ensure that the Hammers fans have reason to cheer, and if they can continue to perform in the manner that they did yesterday, there is no reason why the London Stadium cannot really start to feel like home.
