Carroll spoke to WHUFC.com, and explained how special it was for him to score a goal of such quality:

“As soon as I hit it I knew it was in, I got a good connection and knew it would hit the back of the net. It’s definitely the best goal I’ve ever scored, one I’m very proud of. I enjoy every goal I score, but that one was certainly a little bit more special – I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of watching that one back.”
The former Newcastle United and Liverpool man has had terrible luck with injures throughout his career, and he is a doubt for tomorrow’s game at home to West Bromwich Albion.
And West Ham need to find a way of keeping the big man fit for the remainder of the campaign, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of breaking into the top seven.
