Leeds linked Birmingham ace says personal terms are not a reason for a deal being delayed.

The David Stockdale to Leeds transfer saga continues to rumble on.

Stockdale was absent from Birmingham City’s pre-season training after he was omitted from Garry Monk’s plans, and the Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Wednesday that Leeds have submitted a loan offer.

Leeds are reportedly waiting for a response from Birmingham over the offer.

Stockdale hit out earlier this month over a claim that his wage demands were stopping him moving to Leeds, branding the suggestion inaccurate.

He attempted to clarify the situation again last night when the same query was put to him.

Being very careful not to specifically state anything about his own future, Stockdale said suggested that the delay in the transfer is purely down to the clubs.

Stockdale said that when a loan offer is submitted, the player, ie himself, would not get to make any salary demands.

Birmingham have backed themselves into a bit of a corner by omitting him from their first team plans.

If they do manage to agree terms with Birmingham, the move could progress very quickly and Leeds will get their man.
