West Ham United co-chairman David Gold is delighted with the amount of talented English players at the club.
Hammers co-chairman David Gold talked up Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell as potential England regulars, when writing his regular column for the club’s official website, whilst also suggesting that Andy Carroll fully deserves a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Slaven Bilic’s side have managed to turn their season around, after a woeful start to their campaign, and have put together a strong run in the league which has taken them inside the top half of the table.
And Gold explained how satisfying it is to have so many players amongst the current West Ham squad who are being talked about as potential England national team stars, when writing his column for WHUFC.com:

“I know Gareth Southgate is coming to the game and hopefully he will see the quality from Andy once again. I have no doubts that he deserves a recall to the England squad. It is also another great opportunity for the likes of Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell to impress the new England manager and it is great that we have so many players being talked about for a place in the national squad.”

Antonio has been a leading light for the Hammers this term, scoring eight goals in 23 Premier League appearances for the club.
Cresswell, on the other hand, has struggled since returning from a long lay-off through injury, and has failed to live up to the high standards that he set of himself last season.

From the entire West Ham squad though, it is surely Andy Carroll who is most deserving of a call-up to the national side, and he would give Gareth Southgate an entirely different option in forward areas, should he get the nod.
