Prolific Rangers youngster is on brink of the first team.

Dapo Mebude was seen training with Rangers’ first team squad this week ahead of the clash with Villarreal.
Mebude is uncertain to even make the bench for the Europa League clash, but to even be in with a shot, is a sign of considerable progress.
The 17-year-old striker has to be fair, made it impossible for manager Steven Gerrard to ignore him.
Over the past two months he has been prolific for Rangers’ academy teams and looks too good for under-20 level.
He scored another brace on Monday against Partick Thistle, to add to his recent hat-trick against Motherwell.
There is a big jump in the standard of opposition Mebude would be facing by jumping to the first team. However his exciting form means he deserves a look.

Rangers had not planned to involve Mebude in the first team this season. Manager Steven Gerrard is showing a willingness to adapt, and take notice of the youngster’s goalscoring feats.
By having a closer look in training Gerrard can assess more closely whether he is ready for an opportunity.
It is a chance Mebude has earned.
