Damian Lillard did not appreciate how one fan suggested Giannis Antetokounmpo would benefit from playing next to Miami Heat star, Davion Mitchell.

Lillard and Antetokounmpo’s pairing ultimately proved to be a failure, as the duo failed to even get out of the first round during their two seasons playing together.

And with Antetokounmpo now on the Miami Heat, a training clip of the Greek Freak playing with Davion Mitchell saw a response from a fan that Lillard didn’t appreciate.

On X, one fan reposted a clip of Giannis Antetokounmpo practising with Davion Mitchell, in which Giannis drove the ball before dishing a pass to Mitchell to make a three-pointer.

The fan suggested that Mitchell was doing what Damian Lillard wouldn’t, which prompted a surprising response from the former All-Star.

“(Fans) don’t want Dame to tell it. Be thankful I ain’t running my mouth like these other s——… Carry on… Play with somebody else.”

Lillard seems to be suggesting that there may have been some deeper issues between him, Antetokounmpo, and the Bucks that kept them from finding success.

The Portland Trail Blazers star’s hostile reaction might be a hint that things did not end well between him and Antetokounmpo.

After four years, Giannis has what he wants, having moved to the Miami Heat, a franchise with a rich legacy of championships.

If Giannis wants to prove that his move was about winning a championship, the superstar cannot fail to deliver in the playoffs as he has in the past few years.

If the Heat fail to make it far in the playoffs, and Antetokounmpo doesn’t perform as well as he should, fans will re-evaluate his prior shortcomings with the Bucks.
