Crystal Palace have now made a £10m bid to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel, who Celtic and Rangers both missed out on.

What’s the story?

Well, it was Feneralayi in Turkey who revealed that the south Londoners had submitted a bid for the Nigeria international.

The Turkish news outlet do not specify how Fenerbahce have reacted to this offer.

It comes after Fanatik in Turkey claimed that Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers both wanted to sign Osayi-Samuel back in August 2021 before he rejected them to complete a move from Queens Park Rangers to Fenerbahce.

The 25-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish giants this season, without scoring or assisting a goal.

However, that is largely down to the fact Osayi-Samuel has been playing at right-back this term, despite spending most of his time in England being used as a winger.

Fenerbahce paid just £450,000 to sign the Nigerian from QPR, so if Crystal Palace really have made a £10m bid, it would represent huge profit on their initial investment.

Osayi-Samuel could thrive at Crystal Palace

Some Crystal Palace fans may scoff at the idea of signing a player who has zero goal involvements in Turkish football this season.

However, there is plenty to suggest the Fenerbahce No.21 could thrive at Selhurst Park.

For a start, Eberechi Eze – his old friend at QPR – would welcome him at Crystal Palace, and the pair’s strong relationship on the pitch at Loftus Road could help Osayi-Samuel settle in SE25.

Eze and Osayi-Samuel played 66 games together in west London, and seemingly became good friends at QPR.

Furthermore, the Eagles desperately need a new right-back with Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne now well into their thirties, so this would be a sensible move.

Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as Crystal Palace await a response from Fenerbahce.
