Crystal Palace sources have confirmed to HITC that they have agreed terms with Chelsea to sign Trevoh Chalobah.

The Eagles are wrapping up their summer transfer window with a double deal to strengthen their defence.

Crystal Palace announced the £18m signing of Maxence Lacroix on Friday afternoon after pursuing the Wolfsburg defender over the summer.

They are now set to add Chelsea‘s Trevoh Chalobah to their ranks after agreeing a loan deal for the 25-year-old. HITC understands that no option to buy has been attached in Crystal Palace‘s loan agreement.

Palace have been in the market for new defenders after selling Joachim Andersen to Fulham for £30m earlier in the window.

An injury to Chadi Riad forced Palace back into the market for another centre-back and they have now reached an agreement for Chalobah.

Crystal Palace add double deal with Marc Guehi staying

Palace have already added Lacroix and Chalobah is set to shortly join him at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles have also kept hold of Marc Guehi after rejecting multiple bids from Newcastle United for the England international.

Palace upped the price for Guehi to £75m late in the window, and Newcastle informed the Londoners they do not plan on submitting a deadline day offer.

Oliver Glasner praised chairman Steve Parish for not giving in and selling Guehi despite the big-money offers from Newcastle this summer.

Crystal Palace hold onto key duo

Losing Michael Olise in a £50m deal to Bayern Munich early in the window looked worrying for Palace, but they have since managed to hold on to their biggest stars despite huge interest.

Eberechi Eze had attracted interest from Tottenham and other top-flight clubs, but he is set to stay at Selhurst Park, as is Guehi.

Keeping hold of the star duo could prove to be better than any new signings they may have welcomed this summer.
