HITC understands that Fulham have beaten Crystal Palace to the signing of Ryan Sessegnon.

The decision of the former Tottenham Hotspur player has left Crystal Palace shocked.

Palace were in talks with Ryan Sessegnon over a deal as he had been training with the Eagles throughout the summer.

Oliver Glasner’s side were hopeful that they could get a deal over the line for Sessegnon as they planned for him to join the club on their tour of the United States.

Sources have confirmed to HITC that Palace have been left shocked by Sessegnon’s decision to snub a deal at Palace in favour of re-joining Fulham.

He spent three seasons at Craven Cottage between 2016 and 2019 before completing a £25million move to Tottenham.

Sessegnon struggled to settle in North London and his contract with Spurs expired this summer, leaving him to join a new club as a free agent.

Ryan Sessegnon set for Fulham medical

HITC can confirm that Sessegnon is set to undergo a medical with Fulham on Thursday before finalising the agreement.

Sessegnon is set to become Fulham’s first signing of the season, with the Londoners yet to spend the cash raised from Joao Palhinha’s move to Bayern Munich.

HITC revealed earlier this month that the German giants struck a £42million deal to sign Palhinha after their long-term interest in him.

Fulham have enquired to Manchester United about the availability of Scott McTominay as they look to source a replacement for Palhinha.

While Sessegnon struggled to settle at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou, he was admired by former boss Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach, who joined Tottenham just months after Sessegnon’s deal, was full of praise for the 24-year-old, branding him an “absolutely fantastic” player
