Premier League sides Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Burnley are all keen on Jonathan Rowe with Norwich City now looking to tie the Championship’s rising star down to a new, long-term contract.

He’s magic, you know?

As Jonathan Rowe bangs in the goals like they’re going out of fashion in the yellow and black of Norwich City, serenaded by a throng of lovestruck Canaries, the Carrow Road faithful have barely wasted an opportunity to remind us that the free-scoring 20-year-old is, as they say, ‘one of their own’.

Rowe joined Norwich a decade ago, rising through the ranks before becoming one of the first names on David Wagner’s team sheet.

And, amid interest from Burnley, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa – as well as Brentford and Sheffield United – Rowe’s fierce connection with the East Anglian outfit will do Norwich’s hopes of retaining his services no harm.

TEAMtalk claim that Norwich are set to offer Rowe a ‘bumper new contract’ in response to rising interest from the division above.

“We don’t have to discuss that he has had a wonderful start,” Wagner said in August after Rowe started the new campaign in remarkable style (Evening News).

“Four games with four goals in a row is incredible for such a young lad who never started a competitive first-team game (before this term). So credit to him.”

The goals haven’t flowed quite so frequently since then. But, with seven in 13 games across all competitions, a player called up by the England U21s for the first time this month appears well on track to break the 20-goal barrier during his first season of competitive senior football.

Another EFL purchase for Palace

Crystal Palace’s interest, in particular, comes as little surprise. Roy Hodgson’s side have made excellent use of the EFL market in recent seasons, Ebere Eze and Michael Olise both arriving at Selhurst Park after making their name at Queens Park Rangers and Reading respectively.
