Back in June 2019, Manchester United completed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £50m.
It was a club-record sale for the south Londoners, and they went on to spend £20m of that sum on a new state-of-the-art academy.
Interestingly, Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish believes it is among the best in England, and with players like Tyrick Mitchell already emerging, it seems to be money well spent.
Now, the Eagles could humiliate Manchester United.
What’s the story?
Well, according to The Athletic, Crystal Palace want to re-sign Wan-Bissaka, after his time at Old Trafford turned sour.
According to ESPN, the 24-year-old has been put up for sale by Erik ten Hag, and is free to leave.
Now, if Crystal Palace are able to sign Wan-Bissaka for a sum in the region of £20m, it would be quite embarrassing for the Red Devils.

Should that happen, it would mean the south Londoners spent a portion of the £50m fee to future-proof themselves with the academy, and the rest to simply bring one of their own home.
Effectively, even if Patrick Vieira ends up spending £25m on Wan-Bissaka, it would mean Manchester United pretty much paid for Crystal Palace’s academy – and then some.
To put it simply, Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Selhurst Park – will look like a genius if he can sign Wan-Bissaka for anything under £30m.
Manchester United continue to spoil Crystal Palace gems
First it was Wilfried Zaha, and now Wan-Bissaka. Manchester United just can’t seem to stop ruining bright talents coming from SE25.
Fortunately, Crystal Palace re-signed Zaha and helped him resurrect his career, to the point where he is now one of the best forwards in the Premier League.

Now, it seems set to be Wan-Bissaka’s turn to do just that.
The Londoner looks a shell of himself at Old Trafford, where he has become a laughing stock among neutrals alongside Harry Maguire.
If Vieira can bring Wan-Bissaka home, where he would play as part of an already impressive backline consisting of Mitchell, Marc Guéhi and Joachim Andersen, we’re sure he will rediscover his form of old.
