The UEFA Europa League will see some of the biggest clubs in Europe take part in one of the most exciting editions of the competitions in some time, and Rangers will face Borussia Dortmund.

The Scottish giants will take on the Bundesliga titans in one of the ties of the play-off round as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will aim to cause a huge upset in the Europa League.

Dortmund fell into the Europa League after finishing third in their UEFA Champions League group, and now Rangers stand in their way for the last 16 of the Europa League.

With the likes of FC Barcelona and RB Leipzig in the competition, the Europa League will make for some cracking entertainment for the neutrals this season. And for Rangers, their clash against Dortmund could be one of the history books.

With a squad of superstars like Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Marco Reus, Rangers will have one heck of a test in front of them in Dortmund. Yet given the Gers’ form under Van Bronckhorst, you can’t rule out the reigning SPL champions just yet.

Rangers are yet to lose under the Dutch manager, and the Glasgow side will be feeling confident against Dortmund if they can maintain their domestic form between now and February.

Indeed, Rangers ended their Europa League campaign in a strong fashion, and with the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Joe Aribo firing on all cylinders, Dortmund won’t be in for an easy ride.

As you can expect, many Rangers fans on social media are in disbelief over their draw with Dortmund. Whilst a big-name club was always expected, it still seems crazy to think that the German giants will be coming to Ibrox next year.

Here’s what some Rangers fans had to say on Twitter about drawing with the Bundesliga side in the Europa League…
