The new nominees for the Premier League Player of the Month award have been announced, and, in our view, there can only be one winner.
Last month, Mohamed Salah was snubbed as the returning Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the September gong despite scoring fewer goals and losing more games than the Egyptian.
However, this time around, we can’t see anyone standing in Salah’s way.
The Egyptian has been described as the best player in the world as of late, and you don’t earn praise like that unless you’ve been playing exceptionally well.
Salah’s October performances were an absolute joke.
The stats speak for themselves, five goals and four assists in four matches is nothing short of ridiculous, but the scary thing is that the stats don’t even tell the whole story.
These goals weren’t tap-ins. Two of his strikes were incredible solo efforts that have been nominated for Goal of the Month, and the other three were at Old Trafford in one of the biggest games of the season.
Salah was simply a level above any other player this month, and to make things even better, he still hasn’t lost a game in the Premier League this season.
The likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice and Tino Livramento are all worthy nominees, but the other players on this shortlist can’t have any complaints whatsoever when Salah is inevitably bestowed with this honour.
Ronaldo may have pipped Salah to the post last month, but his crown is surely about to be handed to the Liverpool attacker who has been described as ‘phenomenal’.
