Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his support for Lindsey Vonn after the American skiing legend revealed the full extent of the injuries she suffered at the Winter Olympics.
Vonn, 41, recently confirmed she has finally left the hospital following a devastating crash in Italy that left her with a severely broken leg.
In an emotional update, she admitted doctors had to act quickly to save her leg, and that she now faces a long and painful recovery process.

“When the injury happened, the situation was quite challenging in many ways, but in the end, the situation was brought back under control,” she wrote. “Again, thank you Dr Tom Hackett.
“Now I will focus on rehab and progressing from a wheelchair to crutches in a few weeks. It will take around a year for all of the bones to heal, and then I will decide if I want to take out all the metal or not, and then go back into surgery and finally fix my ACL.
“It will be a long road, but I’ll get there. At least I’m out of the hospital. Love you all.”
Vonn confirmed she will remain in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future, with doctors estimating it could take around a year for her bones to heal.
For now, the skiing great is focused on rehabilitation. And with figures like Ronaldo backing her, she will not be short of motivation as she begins the long climb back.
