Cristiano Ronaldo continues to defy expectations deep into his career. At 41, the forward remains focused on rewriting football’s record books.

His next major target is the 1,000-goal milestone. Ronaldo currently sits on 967 goals after scoring twice in his latest appearance against Al-Fajma following a hamstring injury.

That relentless pursuit has kept him in the spotlight. Every goal now carries extra weight as he edges closer to a historic mark that once seemed unreachable.

A fresh debate has emerged involving Ronaldo and the status of the Arab Club Champions Cup. The discussion centres on whether the competition has always been officially recognised by FIFA.

An Instagram fan page claimed that FIFA has long considered the tournament official. It also argued that narratives suggesting Ronaldo had not won a trophy in Saudi Arabia were misleading.

The same post dismissed claims that the Portugueses six goals scored in that competition would not initially count towards his career tally. It framed those reports as false interpretations of the situation.

In that context, Ronaldo reacted directly in the comments section.

“Acceptance is a virtue,” he wrote, offering a brief but pointed response.

His message has been interpreted as support for the view that the competition’s status has been misrepresented, and it also pushes back against suggestions that recognition is a recent development.
