Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed on his YouTube channel that Lionel Messi is a big fan of new Tottenham Hotspur signing Cristian Romero.
Gold, who has over 127,000 followers on Twitter, has said that he has been told that Messi wanted Barcelona to sign his Argentina international teammate Romero.
Messi is leaving Barcelona due to financial problems at the Spanish club, while Tottenham announced last night that they have signed 23-year-old Romero from Atalanta.
Gold said on his YouTube channel: “What I would say, I have been told this, that even Lionel Messi is a huge fan of Romero, and even in the final days was trying to get Barcelona to make some kind of move for him.”
