Craig Burley is shocked about what he is hearing about Arsenal’s deadline day plans which could involve Raheem Sterling.

Raheem Sterling is understood to be frustrated with Enzo Maresca’s decision to omit the English winger from Chelsea’s squad and a summer transfer could well be on the cards for the former Manchester City and Liverpool winger.

As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s side are understood to be keen on bringing in a winger this summer to provide some much-needed competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

HITC reported that Arsenal were considering a move for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman this summer with the French winger approaching the final year of his contract with the Bavarian side.

Despite being offered to Arsenal and Manchester United in a potential swap deal, HITC understands that Sterling is currently set to stay put at Chelsea.

We understand there are no offers currently on the table for Sterling, but his agents are still talking to clubs about possible deals and will continue throughout deadline day to find him an exit option.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Craig Burley has given his reaction to the potential of Sterling moving to the Emirates Stadium, the pundit was ‘shocked’ that the Gunners would even consider a move for the 29-year-old.

“I’d be shocked if Arsenal were even interested, why would they be?” Burley said. “They’ve got Martinelli, Trossard and Bukayo Saka fighting it out. Why would they make a move for him it doesn’t make any sense.”

Sterling has struggled since his move to Stamford Bridge and the Englishman could well be on his way out of West London before the transfer deadline.

Sterling also being ‘considered’ by Manchester United

HITC has also reported that United were ‘considering’ a move for Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling.

Jadon Sancho is in talks over a move to Juventus but Maresca’s side are also keen on the former Borussia Dortmund winger.

With Chelsea interested in Sancho and United in Sterling, a swap deal looked to be on the cards but this would certainly be a difficult one to achieve with just hours remaining before the transfer window slams shut.
