- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Arsenal’s stance on moving for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has been explained with interest also emanating from the Saudi Pro League.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made two key additions to their squad with the Gunners signing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and finally confirmed the addition of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad this week.
The Gunners will be hoping to finally win the Premier League title for the first time since 2004 and the additions that they have made could help them achieve this goal.
However, Arsenal may not be done there and HITC understands they are considering making a move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

Arsenal considering move for Kingsley Coman
HITC understands that Arsenal are indeed considering a move for Bayern Munich winger Coman but they could face competition from the Saudi Pro League.
Sources have confirmed to HITC that Al-Hilal have agreed terms in principle with Bayern and Coman’s agents over personal terms – but the player has yet to agree to make the move and he is considering his options and seeing what offers are on the table.
Coman’s entourage are understood to have offered their client around some of Europe’s top clubs with the Frenchman having just a year remaining on his deal with the Bavarian giants.
His people have offered him across Europe and numerous teams have shown an interest in the Frenchman.
Liverpool were understood to be one of the sides who showed an interest in the winger, but HITC reported that the Anfield club have turned their attention to Juventus’ Federico Chiesa.
Arsenal’s winger plans before transfer window slams shut
Arsenal are considering a deal for Coman but HITC understands that if the Gunners do not find a suitable winger option, the Gunners will hold onto Reiss Nelson.
HITC reported that West Ham United were keen on Reiss Nelson but the Gunners were demanding £25 million from the Hammers and that looks like a figure that the East London side would not be able to reach.
As for interest in Coman, sources have told HITC that Barcelona were also interested in the French winger with Hansi Flick, who managed the winger to a Champions League triumph with Bayern Munich in 2020, said to be a big fan of the player.
“Kingsley Coman is one of the biggest talents in European football,” then Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer said when they signed the Frenchman as per the Bundesliga website.
With hours remaining before the window slams shut, this could be a brilliant addition for Arsenal if they choose to make their move.
