Arsenal have reportedly been dealt a big and embarrassing blow in their pursuit of AFC Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
According to Sky Sports Italia, the agent of the 21-year-old Serbian attacker is refusing to pick up phone calls from the Gunners concerning his client. Arsenal are keen on Vlahovic, who could leave Florence in January.
The youngster is one of the most exciting prospects in European football. With Juventus and north London rivals Tottenham also reportedly keen on Vlahovic.
Yet it appears that Arsenal have made the first steps in trying to lure Vlahovic away from Tuscany. However, Mikel Arteta’s side seem to be of no interest to the 21-year-old attacker’s entourage.
Indeed, Vlahovic will likely has his pick of clubs come next summer. And with Arsenal currently out of Europe, the Gunners would struggle to lure the attacker to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal will likely go for a striker, with Alexandre Lacazette set to leave at the end of this season. And Vlahovic could be an option for the Gunners, though his agent seems to think otherwise.
