Glasgow Rangers could be without two important midfielders as the Ibrox side look to secure second place on the final day of the season.

With Steven Gerrard arriving in the summer, every Rangers player would be forgiven for being even more motivated to prove a point out on the pitch before the campaign concludes ahead of what may perhaps be a busy summer for the Gers. And despite previously being a teammate with the incoming boss, Jordan Rossiter is likely to be no different.
Rossiter has endured an incredibly difficult time since arriving at Ibrox. His last appearance for the Light Blues came back in August and he has only managed five Scottish Premiership games for the club since his arrival back in 2016.

There have been some more positive signs in recent months however, with the 21-year-old previously featuring regularly for the development side and earning a spot on the substitutes’ bench for the last three games – though he is yet to get on in any of those fixtures.
But perhaps the door may be open for the former Liverpool ace to make himself a hero on the final day of the season when the Gers face Hibernian knowing that they could potentially leap into second spot in the top flight.

The fact that the Gers could finish as low as fourth if the remaining results go against them may be tempting Nicholl to stick with a tried and tested lineup rather than make any drastic changes against Hibs. But given the events during Tuesday’s trip to Aberdeen, he may have to seriously consider giving the Englishman a chance.
Ross McCrorie is suspended for the weekend and Graham Dorrans had to be taken off shortly after the half-hour mark due to injury – with Nicholl confirming to the club’s official website that he is a doubt for the Hibs game.
With Jason Holt not impressing the fans by any stretch, Rossiter surely has to come into consideration even with Sean Goss and Greg Docherty also on the bench at Pittodrie.
The youngster has been hugely impressive and influential for the development side, and there appears to be a general consensus amongst several of the Rangers fans that if he can stay fit, he could actually be one of the Gers’ most important players.
Perhaps Sunday is the perfect time to give him the opportunity.
