Wright, who was Leeds United’s player of the year for 1983/84, is newly out of work.

Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom hopes to add to his coaching staff this summer, the Sun reported earlier this month.
And Monday’s departure of a former Leeds player – of the year, no less – may just start the ball rolling.

Tommy Wright, who began his career at Elland Road and stayed for four years before joining Oldham, is one of four coaches, including manager Jack Lester, who have left Chesterfield in the wake of the Spireites’ relegation to the National League.
And a phonecall from Heckingbottom in the coming weeks and months would come as little surprise, given the pair’s previous at Barnsley, where Wright served as the 40-year-old’s assistant for six months before losing his job as a result of the Telegraph’s investigation into bungs in football.

Wright, surely, would welcome a reunion back at Leeds – who courted him during Massimo Cellino’s time as owner, according to the Sun.
Would Wright be a good addition to Heckingbottom’s Leeds United coaching team?
