Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United won against Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday, but talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor is still not happy with the Red Devils’ decision on Tottenham Hotspur-owned left-back Sergio Reguilon.
Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are the two main candidates to claim the fourth and final UEFA Champions League spot in the Premier League table this season.
However, Manchester United’s win against Everton on Saturday means that they cannot be written off just yet, especially as Villa and Tottenham will face each other in the league on Sunday.
Gabriel Agbonlahor on Manchester United decision regarding Sergio Reguilon
While looking back on United’s win against Everton, former Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor criticised the Red Devils for not keeping Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon joined United on a season-long loan deal from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer of 2023.
The Red Devils decided to send the Spain international left-back back to Spurs in the middle of the season. Brentford have since signed the former Real Madrid player on a loan deal.
Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT (5:39 pm, March 9, 2024): “Letting Reguilon go was a mistake, wasn’t it? You have got Lindelof playing there. He could do a job, but that could cost you in the last 10 games. Injuries have been a big problem, haven’t they?”
My View: No Manchester United regret over Sergio Reguilon
In my opinion, Manchester United should not have any regrets over Sergio Reguilon. I do not think that we should blame United manager Erik ten Hag for sending him back.
Reguilon could not make the desired impact at Old Trafford. True, there were fitness issues, but even when the 27-year-old played, he was not great.
The Spaniard made four starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils.
When United made the decision on Reguilon, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were fit. They have since suffered injuries and are now on the sidelines. How was Ten Hag supposed to know that?
