Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte is reportedly about to miss out on the signing of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku to his former club Inter Milan.
Spurs boss Conte worked with Chelsea striker Lukaku at Inter, and they won the Serie A title together in 2020-21.
Antonio Conte wants Romelu Lukaku at Tottenham Hotspur
According to Corriere dello Sport (print edition, page 10, June 4, 2022), Conte wants to sign Lukaku for Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
The Spurs head coach reportedly plans to pair the £350,000-a-week (SalarySport) Chelsea striker with Harry Kane.
Now, that would be mouth-watering for Tottenham fans.
However, it seems that Conte will fail in his quest to bring the Belgium international striker to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Inter Milan transfer
90min have reported that Lukaku has agreed personal terms to return to Inter in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed to pay a percentage of the 29-year-old striker’s wage package.
“After personal terms being agreed, all that is left to finalise is the terms between both clubs. 90min have been told that Inter and Chelsea are ‘close’ to finalising these terms – terms which could include a future fee, an obligation to buy, and a potential additional season on loan after the 2022/23 campaign,” states the report.
Chelsea struggles
Lukaku struggled at Chelsea last season.
The Chelsea no. 9 made 16 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues.
The former Manchester United striker scored eight goals in those games.
Lukaku also scored two goals in six Champions League matches for Chelsea last season.
