Conor McGregor is under increased scrutiny from anti-doping officials as he prepares for his UFC return.
While the former two-division champion has never tested positive for a banned substance, he recently completed an 18-month ban from MMA for failing to provide accurate whereabouts information to Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD).
In 2026, there have been no issues locating Conor McGregor so far. Drug testers have not reported any problems finding him.
McGregor faces eight drug tests already this year

The UFC anti-doping test history database was officially updated on Friday. It showed that Conor McGregor has undergone eight drug tests so far in 2026.
That’s twice as many as the two UFC fighters who share second spot on the list.
Julius Walker and Melquizael Costa da Conceicao have both submitted four drug tests this year. Sean Strickland leads a 43-person list of UFC fighters who have been subjected to three drug tests in 2026.
Latest on Conor McGregor’s UFC return
Conor McGregor recently hinted that the talk of a July 11th return could be accurate, adding more fuel to the speculation.
Since then, Dana White has provided a positive update about the Irish superstar’s eagerly anticipated comeback.
But the UFC CEO was quick to point out that they are still far from finalising an agreement for what would be McGregor’s first fight since 2021.
“Possibly,” White said at UFC Seattle when asked if McGregor is fighting in July.
He continued: “Nothing’s done. Nothing’s even remotely close to being done. But there’s still a lot of optimism coming into this year.
“So, at the end of last year and going into this year, I’m still confident.”
