Carlton Cole has made it clear that Antonio Rudiger would ‘definitely not’ leave Chelsea for Arsenal, as he told Stadium Astro.

The former Chelsea striker was asked about Rudiger’s future at Stamford Bridge and batted away the idea of him moving to the Emirates.

Over the years, Arsenal have purchased a number of Chelsea’s players from Willian, Petr Cech and David Luiz.

And in truth, the fans are probably glad that they have finally stopped making such transfers because most of them have proved to be an utter disaster.

Rudiger’s contract in west London expires at the end of the season and question marks remain over whether he will stay put.

Former Premier League hitman Cole stated that the German is a ‘top player’, but not one that will be donning the colours of those in north London.

“I think Rudiger is a top player for them,” said Cole. “But with Chelsea’s resources, they can go and find another Rudiger soon.

“How much do they value him? That’s only down to the manager.

On Arsenal possibly signing him: “Arsenal definitely not. Rudiger is not going to want to go their.”

Another London club, in the form of Tottenham, have been rumoured to be interested in Rudiger.

Even with Antonio Conte at the helm, it’s a transfer that is unlikely to happen and one that would send shock waves across the Premier League if it did happen.

This time last season, Rudiger was a player trying to find his feet after being an under-used player under Frank Lampard.

But the arrival of Thomas Tuchel changed everything and now he is now one of Chelsea’s key players after helping them win the Champions League last season.

Therefore, nothing but the clubs right at the top would be Rudiger’s next destination, that’s if he cannot sign on the dotted line at the Bridge.
