Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger wants to hear what Paris Saint-Germain have to say before committing to joining Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who was speaking on The Football Terrace on Tuesday.
Jones claims that he doesn’t see how Chelsea can now tempt Rudiger into staying at Stamford Bridge.
The German defender’s contract expires at the end of the season and there has been no movement on an extension.
Jones claims that one of the most serious offers on the table is going to be from Tottenham Hotspur.
A move from Chelsea to Tottenham would be hugely controversial, but Spurs are seemingly planning an offer.
Rudiger wants to hear what Europe’s true elite have to say first though, with Paris Saint-Germain indicating they’re keen.
That means Tottenham could end up missing out on Rudiger to their former boss, Mauricio Pochettino.
“I personally don’t see the situation turning around,” said Jones. “It’s going to take a big offer from Chelsea to do that, and to convince him to stay at this point. He’s kind of got his options open right now, he’s obviously going to head into January and see what firm offers are put on the table, when he can more publicly negotiate.”
“Interestingly, one of the biggest offers on the table for him is going to be from Tottenham, as it stand right now. We will have to wait and see whether Rudiger genuinely makes the step from Chelsea to Tottenham, but from the early noises to his camp from the clubs that are interested, Tottenham are one of the most serious.”
“He knows he will have offers from people like PSG. PSG have made it pretty clear that they’re going to be in the conversation, so he wants to see what the absolute elite of Europe have got to say before signing himself away to anybody else,” he added.

Do Tottenham really have a chance of landing Rudiger?
No matter what people say, Tottenham are a big club and have huge pulling power.
Antonio Conte wouldn’t be there if those things weren’t true.
Yet if does seem a little unlikely that Rudiger would trade Chelsea for Tottenham.
Rudiger is at the top of his game right now, emerging as one of the Premier League’s top defenders under Thomas Tuchel.
Right now, leaving Chelsea for Tottenham is clearly a downgrade or a backward step.
With a move to PSG, you could at least see why Rudiger is chancing his arm at leaving Chelsea.
With a move to Tottenham, you can’t quite see the logic for Rudiger making the move.
You can never say never given the appeal of Conte – even though he had a mixed relationship with Rudiger – but we doubt the defender will join Tottenham.
