Colorado Rapids head coach Robin Fraser has praised Arsenal-bound defender Auston Trusty ahead of the defender’s move to the north London club in the summer.
Speaking to the MLS club’s official Twitter account, the Rapids manager expressed his delight in the 23-year-old centre-back making the move to Arsenal after developing rapidly with the Colorado-based franchise.
Trusty joined the Rapids in 2020 after coming through at the Philadelphia Union. And despite a slow first year with the club, the US youth international exploded into life with Colorado, becoming a key player for their defence.
Indeed, the defender was one of the top players in his position in MLS last season. And now Trusty will take his talents to the Premier League with Arsenal, something Fraser is very excited about.
The MLS manager said when asked about Trusty’s move to Arsenal: “Auston’s development since he’s been with us has been incredible. He took a while to get settled with us but he took off when he started getting to grips with things.”
“What makes this move so fitting is that he is an incredibly hard worker and he’s really driven. From the minute he got here, he knew what he wanted to do, he wanted to get himself overseas. I’m so thrilled for him.”
Next few months will be key to Trusty’s success with Arsenal

The defender will remain with Colorado until the summer, and the upcoming months will be crucial to how Arsenal take hold of Trusty’s career and what direction they decide to take with the centre-back.
Whilst there is no expectation for Trusty to be a regular for Arsenal, the defender could feature often for the Gunners if they qualify for Europe, with the youngster the only other left-footed defender on the club’s books.
