Cagliari are now working with Torino on a deal to sell Nahitan Nandez during the January transfer window, against reported interest from Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports Cagliari and Torino are keen to acquire each other’s players this month. The Rossoblu are exploring reuniting Walter Mazzarri with Armando Izzo and Daniele Baselli. While Il Toro believe Nandez has a lot to offer Ivan Juric.
Torino admire Nandez’s versatility to operate as a wide-right option, as well as in a central midfield capacity. The Olympic Grande Torino Stadium natives also have two proposals in mind to see the Uruguayan remain in Serie A.

Discussions between Cagliari and Torino have so far hinged on Nandez joining Juric’s side in an initial loan transfer. But Il Toro have suggested using Karol Linetty as a makeweight that would facilitate an immediate permanent switch this month.
Torino are also yet to reach an agreement with Nandez as they try to convince him to leave the Sardegna Arena, having long been on Inter Milan, Atalanta and Tottenham’s shortlists.
Tottenham remain keen on transfer for Leeds target Nandez of Cagliari
Tottenham also remain keen on agreeing a transfer for Leeds target Nandez of Cagliari, but Torino could prove troublesome. Calciomercato have noted the Premier League clubs, plus Inter and Napoli, retain an interest in the 26-year-old with a €36m (£30m) release clause.

Cagliari no longer feel they can tell clubs to trigger Nandez’s break clause, though. Instead, Calciomercato.it claim the Rossoblu have now set his price at just €20m (£16.5m). They will also accept €2m (£1.5m) upfront to sanction a loan for the remainder of the current term.
Nandez’s reduced valuation could tempt either Leeds or Tottenham to rival Torino in a race for the Cagliari dynamo’s transfer. A deal can see Marcelo Bielsa or Antonio Conte acquire a midfielder Italian football pundit Mina Rzouki lauded last May.
“Nandez is one of the most underrated players,” she noted on Twitter. “God, he’s been so amazing – especially in Cagliari’s last 3 games. He scored the equaliser against Napoli. Man of the match in the win against Udinese. Against Roma – just wow. Unstoppable.”
