Inter Milan are under pressure to sign Milan Skriniar down to a new contract, with Manchester United and Tottenham both weighing up summer moves for the centre-back.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the reigning Serie A champions are desperate for the Slovakian international to pen new terms with the club as interest in Skriniar begins to hot up ahead of the transfer window.
Skriniar was last year heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, though the Premier League side were unable to secure the Inter star’s signature, however, the lack of progress over a new contract is a positive sign for Spurs.
With Antonio Conte now at the helm, the former Inter manager could convince Skriniar to swap Milan for north London, with the Daily Mail reporting that the defender is available this summer for just £55m.
And as per the report, if Inter stall too long on handing Skriniar a new contract, their lack of progress could play into the hands of potential suitors, with the defender no doubt a target for many top sides across Europe.
As things stand, Skriniar’s contract is set to expire in 2023, and with Inter struggling to tie the defender down to new terms, the Serie A side risk losing their defender for free if Tottenham or United don’t make their move this summer.
Skriniar could leave Inter if new contract is not signed soon

With Inter rushing to sign Skriniar down to a new contract, the ensuing chaos in Milan could play well into Tottenham and United’s hands this summer.
After all, both sides need to sign centre-backs, and Skriniar could be a perfect option for the Premier League sides, especially with the defender’s current deal set to expire in 2023.
