Earlier this week, Sky Sports reported that Leeds have made an offer of £25 million for White, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Elland Road from Brighton.
The report added that it is the West Yorkshire club’s third bid for the 22-year-old central defender.
The Argus has now claimed that while Brighton have received the new and improved bid from Leeds, the Seagulls will not accept it as White is not for sale.
Moving on
Leeds seem to be determined – and perhaps even desperate – to sign White this summer, and given his quality and how much he progressed under head coach Marcelo Bielsa last season, that is not a surprise.
However, Brighton’s stance is that the youngster – described as as “nice footballer” and a “good athlete” by former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy on talkSPORT (10:30am, April 20, 2020) (click here to read more), is not for sale, and perhaps the Whites should move on and look at alternatives.
After all, the new Premier League season will start next month, and Leeds need to bring in a central defender, and they cannot wait for White forever.
