Adama Traore could leave Wolves for Galatasaray after the Turkish giants missed out on another Premier League wideman in Southampton’s Nathan Redmond, as reported by Sporx

Redmond, after falling out of favour at St Mary’s, had his pick of the Turkish trio. Would he choose Besiktas, Galatasaray or Fenerbahce?

It seems that the former England U21 international has his heart set on the former, agreeing a one-year deal with a Besiktas side looking to reach the summit again after being knocked off top spot by Trabzonspor last season (Daily Mail).

And Galatasaray, accepting defeat in their pursuit of Redmond, have turned to another English-based winger.

Galatasaray switch from Nathan Redmond to Adama Traore

With the Turkish transfer window closing on Thursday, however, time is not exactly on Gala’s side. They are yet to agree a deal with Traore, or Wolverhampton Wanderers themselves.

Galatasaray want the former Barcelona battering ram on a short-term deal, offering a £3 million loan fee. Given that Traore’s contract expires in July 2023, it’s is difficult to understand why Wolves would be willing to let him go on loan, only to depart as a free agent in less than 12 months’ time.

Traore, meanwhile, is asking for around £65,000-a-week in Istanbul. Galatasaray are currently offering about £20,000 less.

“I spoke with him two or three weeks ago when he returned to training,” Wolves coach Bruno Lage admitted over the weekend.

“I can see he’s happy. He wants to help the team and continue to improve as a player. He has a good challenge in front of him. The competition is different. We have two months in front of us where the club and him can talk and understand what is best for both.

“So let’s see what happens in the next couple of months. And if the club makes an offer (of a new contract) and if he accepts.”

Traore has featured in four of Wolves’ last five Premier League games, albeit without starting any of them. He is now behind a revitalised Pedro Neto and summer arrival Goncalo Guedes in Lage’s pecking order.
